Your questions, our answers
Licence, deposit, insurance, delivery, cancellation… Everything you need to know before booking.
Do I need a licence to rent a 50cc scooter in Réunion?
For a 50cc scooter like the Vespa Primavera, the AM licence (former BSR) is enough. For a 125cc you need the A1 licence (or a B car licence with 7h training), and for our A2-restricted 800cc and 999cc motorbikes, the A2 licence.
How do I book a motorbike with Romeo Rent Motorcycle?
Booking is very simple and is done directly online on our website or by phone. You receive an email confirmation stating the model, the dates, the price and the bank details.
Can I rent without going through a physical agency?
Yes, our service is 100% digital. Vehicle handovers and returns are done by appointment, at the place that suits you: hotel, guesthouse, restaurant, Airbnb or partner point.
Do you deliver motorbikes to Réunion airport?
Yes. Delivery is free at our named points (Saint-Pierre, Saint-Leu, Saint-Gilles). For other partner points it is on quote. Delivery to Roland Garros airport is available for €50.
How much does it cost to rent a motorbike in Réunion?
Rates start at €20/day for a Vespa 50cc scooter, €25 for a Yamaha N-MAX 125, €30 for a Yamaha XSR 125, €65 for a CFMOTO 800 NK, €75 for a Suzuki V-Strom 800 and €85 for an Indian Scout Bobber Sixty (rates for 14-day-plus packages; the daily price decreases with duration). Unlimited mileage and gear are always included.
What documents do I need to provide to rent?
A valid, compatible driving licence (AM, A1 or A2 depending on the vehicle), a valid ID, and a proof of address less than 3 months old (water, electricity or internet bill).
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept bank transfers, credit/debit cards and cash. Cheques are not accepted. Payment in 3 instalments is possible.
Is a deposit required?
Yes, a deposit is required, the amount of which varies depending on the model. A bank pre-authorisation is taken when the vehicle is handed over.
Can I cancel my booking?
Yes: cancellation 6 days or more before = full refund; between 6 days and 72h = 50% refunded; less than 72h = no refund, unless you took out the refund protection pack.
What is the refund protection pack?
A €20 option that guarantees, regardless of the cancellation date, a full refund of your booking or a change to the rental date. Your booking stays flexible if plans change.
What insurance is included in the rental?
Comprehensive insurance is included on all motorbikes. The 50cc scooters are covered by third-party insurance (the renter is liable in case of damage).
What equipment comes with the bike?
Every rental includes, at no extra cost, an approved helmet, a pair of gloves, a disc lock and comprehensive insurance.
Do I have to return the bike full and clean?
Yes, the bike must be returned with a full tank and clean. A €20 cleaning fee applies if necessary.
What happens in case of a breakdown or accident?
In case of a breakdown, immediately call the emergency number given with the keys: assistance and replacement are guaranteed. In case of damage, costs are deducted from the deposit (limited excess on comprehensively-insured motorbikes).
Can I extend my rental?
Yes, an extension is possible subject to vehicle availability. Contact us as early as possible.
